shoes of Grandma Breckenridge.
Write a journal entry, at least two
paragraphs in length, reflecting on the day as if you were Grandma Breckenridge.
Some questions to consider as you compose your entry: How did you feel having your granddaughter and great granddaughter visit
you? Explain how the media frenzy made you feel. What was your opinion or
thoughts about the anchor? Why did you lie to the anchor or embellish stories about experiencing the San Francisco earthquake and the Hindenburg crash?

Dear Journal, Today was an interesting one. My granddaughter and my great granddaughter, Megan visited me! But along with them the media came. It was a very chaotic scene. Everyone was packed in my bedroom. An anchor of a news channel came to interview me. Along with some reporter who just about copied down just about every word the left my mouth. The anchor was asking me all sorts of questions. All he wanted to know were my memories and nothing about me. So that was exactly what I gave him. The answers might have been a little bit exaggerated but it was what he wanted to hear. He was so gullible and had absolutely no sense of humor. The anchor and the whole media frenzy was unlike anything I had ever experienced. The anchor was very silly looking with his dyed hair and all. He was so much different than any other person I have experienced. The media frenzy was just absolute chaotic craziness! ~ Grandma Breckenridge
Dear Journal,
ReplyDeleteToday Megan and her mom came to visit. Megan didn't look like she wanted to be here. When they were coming the news people came to my room too. I thought, are they coming to ask questions? Megan and her mom tried to keep them out but I said to let them in. The news people started to come in my room. One of the anchors started to ask me questions about what happened in my past. I told them I don't like to look back on the past. I only look toward the future.
The blonde anchorman was more interested in my answers than me. They wanted to know about my life because I have lived through 3 centuries. I told them I survived the San Francisco earthquake and the Hindenburg crash. This isn't true. I lied because I didn't care for those news anchors. The news anchors believed me but Megan and her mom did not. I could see my daughter whispering to megan when I told those lies. I thought it was funny that the news people believed me. I was glad to see them leave. By the end of it all megan was happy to visit me. I was happy she came.
Dear Journal,
ReplyDeleteToday was quite an experience! Meagan and her mother stopped by. Then, these reporters came in and asked me all these questions how I lived from 1899 to now .The media made me feel so uncomfortable. The anchor was so mean and pitiful I just could not stand it! He would star and give me dirty looks.
Anyways, Meagan would love to come see me again that made me so happy. But, I did lie about the San Francisco earth quake and the Hindenburg crash, so he would stop asking me questions and leave me alone. He didn't care about me. All he cared about was his stupid story, so I gave him one! On the other hand, Meagan and her mom stopped by and it made me feel so happy.
Dear Journal,
ReplyDeleteThis wack job snobby reporter came in and annoyed me a ton I tell he just rubs me the wrong way. First he came in with a hole camera crew and asked me questions so I told him lies he sure was stupid.
He even believed that I survived the San Francisco earthquake. I told him that my husband died young and I didn’t re marry. My grand dater new of the lies and that they were lies. But there was an upside to today
My great grand dater said she would like to visit my more.
sincerely

Dear journal,
ReplyDeleteToday Megan and her mother stopped by. I don't know why I let the reporters in all they do is want stories so I gave them a couple. I told them I was in the Fransisco earth quake and I was in the Hindenburg crash I knew they were not true but the anchor was weird all he wanted was stories. I could tell Megan's mom was aggravated with me when I was telling the lies but I didn't want them in my room anymore I was tired and wanted to take a nap. I learned my lesson with the reporters though. Megan seemed interested in coming afterwords but in the beginning I could tell she didn't want to be there. I don't blame her I don't think I would want to be there if I were her age. I thought they were being very patient while the reporters were there, I don't think I would be if people were surrounding my grandmother I would push them outta the way. They didn't even laugh at my jokes (I don't think they knew i was joking.) I'm happy they left so I could sleep. I'm happy that Megan wants to see me more I thought she didn't like it here but it seems after today she had a good time. I want to know why its such a big deal that I lived from 1899 I'm just a human being. Yes I know I lived a long time but I want to know why its so important. I felt weird in the clothing and being dolled up for them. Megan seemed to have fun there listening to those tales I said even though they were real I wanted them to understand I am a regular person.
Dear Journal,
ReplyDeleteToday Megan and her mom came to visit me along with a bunch of reporters. One reporter came in and started asking all these questions about what happened in the three centuries that I have lived in. He was more interested in my answers than he was in me. So I started to lie and tell him how I survived the San Francisco earthquake. Also I lied about surviving the Hindenburg crash. While I was telling the news reporter that, I could see Megan's mom whispering to her about the lies. After the news reporters had left, Megan told me she was going to visit more often. I can tell she was happy along with me.
Dear journal ,
ReplyDeleteToday was unexpected! My great grand daughter Megan and my grand daughter visited me today . But they werent the only ones who did. Reporters came to my room , they asked me all these questions , I was very confused. They asked me about my memories in the past , I was very annoyed because people arnt just memories , there much more than that. I did lie about the San Francisco earth quake and the hindenberg crash , because they wouldn’t leave me alone so I had to exaggerate a little bit. After all the questions the reporters finaly left and all that was in my room was Megan , my grand daughter and and me. Right before Megan and my grand daughter left Megan told me that she wants to come visit me more often because today was fun and exciting . She made me feel so happy inside and out. I cant wait to see Megan again, but for now im gonna get going.
Yours truly ,
Grandma Breckenridge.
Dear Journal,
I have had quite the day. I have lived in 3 century’s (wow). I guess that’s a big deal. Megan and her mom came and visited me but Megan didn’t look like she wanted to be there though. It was because there was old people and stuff, and it smelt really bad. When Megan and her mom came the news people came too. They started to come into my room. The anchor started asking me questions. They ask me about the past and I said “I only look into the future.
Since the anchor didn’t leave for a long time. I started to tell some lies. The blonde anchor was more interested in my answers then me. Since I lied I told them that I lived threw the San Francisco earthquake and the Hindenburg crash. I was lying because I didn’t car about the news anchor people at all. The anchor people believed me but Megan and her mom did not believe me at all. After all that Megan wanted to come back because she thought that it was funny when they believed me. That is what I new when Megan wanted to come back and see me.
Sincerely, The three century woman
