6 Word Memoir Steps

Step One:  Go online to search copyright free images that you can use for your slide.  Try out the following websites to start browsing:

Step Two: After you’ve found your image, using your mouse right click on the image and select “Save As”.

Next, save your image on your student drive or under "My Documents"

Rename the file name as something you will remember.

Step Three:  Next, use the start menu to open Microsoft Office PowerPoint.

Click at the top of the screen where it says “Insert” and select “Picture” then “From file”

Select the image you saved under the correct file with your name.

Step Four: Now your image is on the slide, but it might be a little too big.  Use the circles in the corners of the picture to drag your image to make it either smaller or larger.

Once you are satisfied with the slide, go to the top of the screen where it says “File” and then click on “Save As.”

Make sure to save your work in a folder/place on the student drive, where you will know where to find it!
SAVE IT AS "(insert your block)(insert your first name)6WM"
For example: Ablockjohn6wm
Step Five: Now it’s time to add your text. BE SURE TO PROOFREAD!

Go to the drop down menu at the top of the screen click “Insert” and select “Text Box”.  Now you may draw a text box anywhere you wish by clicking and dragging your mouse.  You can change the size and placement of your text box at any time.

Inside your text box, type your Six Word Memoir.  Select the words in the box to change the font, style, and size.  Be creative, but make sure that your viewers will be able to easily read your memoir!

Step Six: Create another text box for your name.  Include your first name and last initial only (and make sure it is easy to read!).

Step Seven:  Save your work once more! Then open up your email, upload your Powerpoint slide as an attachment to a new email and address it to --->  Missdomohowski@gmail.com DO NOT PRESS SEND YET!

Step Eight: Make the subject of your email your BLOCK (A, B, C, D). In the body of the email you need to cite your source ---failure to do so is fraud or plagiarism!
